Denmark vs Serbia

Denmark-vs-Serbia-euro2024Denmark and Serbia lock horns at the Allianz Arena in Munich in their final Group C game on Tuesday night. The Danes haven’t really managed to hit top gear in the tournament so far; however back to back 1-1 draws with Slovenia and England have been enough for them to sit in second place in the group. That makes things pretty straightforward for Kasper Hjulmand’s men – win and they’re through to the next round. They showed plenty of fight in the 1-1 draw with England most recently and a repeat of that performance would see them with every chance.

After impressing in the second half of their game against England, Serbia have rather disappointed at Euro 2024. They were expected to beat Slovenia relatively comfortably, but that didn’t pan out as planned. Serbia actually fell a goal behind in the game and needed a last-gasp equaliser from Luka Jovic to rescue a 1-1 draw. That point leaves them sitting at the bottom of Group C, but a win (and a win for England or a draw in the other game) would see them jump up to second and qualify automatically. That essentially makes this a straight shootout.

It’s crunch time in the group stages and the bookmakers are tentatively installing Denmark as the favourite to win this one. Even so, you’ll get odds in favour of the Danes taking all 3 points, and we think that represents good value on the basis of what we’ve seen so far. Christian Eriksen will be the key here for Denmark, and we think he’s worth backing to score anytime or even to score from outside the area. Morten Hjulmand was the goal-scoring hero against England last time out, but we’re tipping the midfielder to pick up a card in this game.
