Switzerland looks to secure their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2024 on Sunday evening as they take on hosts Germany at the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt. The Swiss can top Group A if they win, and they’re unbeaten in their two games so far in the competition. The first is an impressive 3-1 win over Hungary before a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Scotland next time out. They’ll be keen to try and win the group to avoid a more difficult game in the last 16 potentially, so expect a strong lineup to be named.
The Germans are in pole position, having already guaranteed progression to the knockout rounds. A 5-1 demolition of Scotland in their opener was followed up by an easy enough 2-0 win over Hungary to leave them with plenty of wiggle room. Jamal Musiala has been impressive and found the net in both games so far, so don’t be surprised to see him start. Julian Nagelsmann is expected to make some changes, though, as he won’t want to risk injuries to key players. Germany has a quality squad, so several changes are unlikely to disrupt their rhythm.
Despite having already qualified, Germany is still the odds-on favourite to win this one. A point would be enough for both teams though, so the draw is our choice in the match result market. It’s worth siding with Jamal Musiala to score anytime in the game, along with Granit Xhaka to pick up a card. We’re hoping for an entertaining, open game here, which should bring us some goals. That’s leading us towards backing the draw and both teams to score, and a little punt on the 2-2 correct score. Our last tip is Germany / Draw in the Half Time / Full Time market.
